Heritage Tourism
 Goals
- Create greater understanding of the economic impact of cultural heritage tourism and its importance as an economic development tool.
- Create a more widespread awareness of the excellent heritage tourism assets in the region.
- Continue to upgrade and improve the heritage tourism infrastructure—lodging, shops, and restaurants, entertainment, and visitor services—in order to enhance the overall experience for cultural heritage travelers coming to the region.
- Realize a greater economic impact from heritage tourism visitors.

- Heritage tourism survey in conjunction with Historic Resources Rural Survey
- Historic lodging assessment, consultation, and workshop
- Interpretation consultation
- Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial work plan
